1) Recipe for Coconut and Flower Hair Oil


Ingredients:
1 cup coconut oil
4 drops of Rose/ Jasmine oil
½ cup mixed flowers such as rose, jasmine and hibiscus

Method:
Pour the coconut and rose oils into a small saucepan.  Heat the oil over a stove till the oil bubbles slightly. Let the oil cool for a little bit, then add the flower petals and stir well.  Let the mixture sit for a couple of hours or a day. Keep in an airtight container.

2) Recipe for Skin Softening Body Mask

Ingredients:
1/2 cup plain yoghurt
1/2 cucumber, pounded
1 teaspoon coconut oil

Prep time: 10 minutes

Place the yoghurt into a mixing bowl.  Slice the cucumber and pound it up in a mortar.  Then squeeze out the cucumber juice before putting it into the mixing bowl.  Add 1 teaspoon of coconut oil, then mix altogether.

Spread on any part of the body and leave for about 15-20 minutes, then rinse with warm water.


3) Recipe For “Fruit For the Hair” – Natural Shampoo

Makes 6 application

Prep Time
20 minutes
Materials
Mortar and pounder, Tablespoons, Teaspoons
Airtight container

Ingredients:
4 tablespoons shikakai powder
2 tablespoons green gram powder
1 tablespoon fenugreek powder
1 tablespoon curry leaves, dried and pounded
1 tablespoon hibiscus tea, pounded

Method:
Combine Shikakai, fenugreek, green gram, curry leaves and hibiscus tea. To use add 1/2 cup of water to two teaspoons of powder mix, until the mixture is almost creamy in texture before use. Rub into wet hair to lather. Set for 5-10 minutes, and then rinse with cold water. The dry powder can be kept in the jar inside cupboard until needed.


4) Recipe for Coconut Face and Body Scrub

Prep time: 30 minutes
Materials:
Mortar and pounder
Mixing bowl
Wooden soon
teaspoon

Ingredients:
1/4 cup raw almonds, pounded
1/4 cup grated coconut with skin
2 teaspoons cinnamon powder
2 teaspoons cardamon pods

Method:
Pound the raw almonds into fine powder, then pour into a mixing bowl.  For a stronger, tangier aroma, you may want to pound the cardamon pods. Add the remaining ingredients into the bowl and mix thoroughly with a dry wooden spoon or fingers. Use the mix once combined.
